What a great day!

I started out by going to my WW meeting to find out that I lost 3 pounds this week! I am down 9.8 so far. The lady pointed out that I was .2 short of a celebration, but I will celebrate next week for sure. Also, someone at the meeting got a something-something for attending 16 weekly meetings in a row. Now, I don't know what it was, but I do know that I want one! I am already thinking of what meeting I will go to to make up for the 17th when I am going on a bus trip to the Statue of Liberty with my friend Jeanine.

After the meeting, I met up with Rich at the mall...at Pearl Vision, to be exact. I picked up my new glasses and he got an eye exam and picked out new glasses. Now we both have bifocals and are pretty much equally blind as bats! I think I love my new glasses and I'm getting used to looking up and down and pointing my nose wherever I want to look. Very cool.

We then went to the diner as Rich had to be at work at 1:00 and I was starving. On the drive over there, I was really reaching as far as what I was going to have. I had no idea because I was so hungry. I pulled up first and saw that they had Greek food. Oh, my. How I love a gyro. I decided on that and figured I would just count the points when I got home and deal with it. We waited for what seemed like forever for our waitress to come by so I pulled out the Week 4 book I got at the meeting. Wouldn't you know that it was all about eating out? Hmmmmmph. Wouldn't you know they actually listed chicken souvlaki in a pita? Since I knew the pointage (that's a word I will use often!) , that's what I had. I had 3 pierogis (instead of french fries) without knowing the pointage and I was sorry to see that they were 10 points. That will learn me.

Spoke to my mom on the way home, stopped at the grocery store, and then finally got home at about 2:30. I called my mom back to finish our conversation, which I had to interrupt to go into the grocery store, and then just pretty much wasted the afternoon doing nothing.

Here's my food journal:
1/2 cup skim milk -- 1
coffee w/S&L -- 0
chicken souvlaki -- 7
pierogies -- 10
8 oz. tilapia -- 5
2 tsp olive oil -- 2
2 1/2 cups broccoli -- 0
1 1/2 cup skim milk -- 3
1 tbsp chocolate syrup -- 1
1 1/2 cup strawberries -- 1
Drank all water -- met milk, fruit/vegetable, and healthy oil requirements.

I have to use 5 of my weekly 35 points for our snack tonight. I say "our" but, of course, I mean mine.

No exercise today except for walking around the mall. I'm going to go out early tomorrow and get my walk out of the way.

Now I am going to watch my Yankees and stitch

What a great day!

And so it continues....

Lately I have been enjoying reading people's weight loss blogs and figured I would start my own. This will be a place where I will journal my food and my exercise and my life in general. I'm sure there will be ups and downs (hopefully more downs than ups!) and I invite you to share them with me.

I go to my Weight Watcher meetings on Saturday mornings at 10:00. I went back, wow, a month ago already. Well, tomorrow will be my third weigh in since going back. So far I have lost 6.8 pounds and I got my first 5-pound star last week! I was thrilled. The first week I went I sat in the back row. After that, I am front and center. My mother always raised me to be in the first row and first seat.

So, my plan is to update at least once a day with my food journal and my exercise journal. Of course, on Saturdays, I will let you know how the week actually was according to the scale.

Thanks for taking the ride with me. I'll be happy to ride with you, too, so leave me a comment with your blog and I'll pay you a visit.
